Jonni Dreamer Big Hair Obituary

Jonni Dreamer-Big Hair passed away on November 26th, 2024. She was born March 16th, 1962 in Billings, Montana to the late Mortimer S. Dreamer and Deanna Dreamer-Doyle. Jonni was given her Indian name “Likes to Teach Children” BaaKáate Baachimmíhche Isitchee by Clara Smart Enemy. She was a member of the Big Lodge and child of the Whistling Water clans.

Jonni received her early education in Crow Agency, Montana, Grand Coulee, Washington, & McLean Virginia. In 2000, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Montana State University Billings, one of her proudest accomplishments. In 2006, Jonni served as a civil court clerk for the Crow Court where she later became an Associate Judge until 2013. In 2020, Jonni made the decision to retire and spend her time taking care of her family.

Jonni was an amazing mother and dedicated her life to her daughters Kasey and Shannon. On February 14th, 2007 she married the love of her life, Al Big Hair. From this union she gained another daughter, Aloysia Big Hair. Jonni was an even more dedicated grandparent, she always went out of her way to be at every event and support every one of her grandchildren. Everyone loved their “Kaala J” endlessly.

Jonni was preceded in death by her father Mortimer Dreamer, brother Lansing Dreamer, paternal grandparents Gilbert “Burdett” and Edith Birdinground, maternal grandparents John and Florence Doyle, cousins Patrick “Little Pat” and Robert “Bomber” Doyle, uncles Donald “Lucky” Dreamer, Mervin Haven, Big Pat, Bobby, Chuck, and Timothy Doyle. Aunts Beldean Benecker and Agnes Birdinground.

She is survived by her husband Al Big Hair, mother Deanna Dreamer, daughters Kasey (Josh) Dreamer-Little Owl, Shannon Dreamer, and Aloysia Big Hair, grandchildren; Matthew Mortimer Stops, Maria Ashleigh & William “Babe” Snell, Jersey Bay Flores, Kayden, Khloe, Crystal, and Victor “Boy” Bull Shows, great-granddaughter LeiNani Stops, close cousins; Desi and Tara Whiteman, Gary (Mary) Whiteman, Arlen (Mona) Whiteman, Valerie (Quentin) Whiteman, Faith (Craig) Ackley, Kim (Bryan) Peterson, Shane (Megkian) Doyle, Donna Dreamer, Shiloh Bad Bear & Sloan (Scott) Flat Lip, aunts; Mickey Whiteman, Louise and Rosie Doyle, Penny Bad Bear, Carmaleta Birdinground, and Sara Young, uncles; Johnny (Agnes) Doyle, Gilbert (Kathy), Wilfred (Lorna) and Quentin Birdinground, and adopted brother in laws Jim Riggio and Thomas Dawes.

Extended families include; Birdinground, Doyle, Yarlott, Shane, Fitzpatrick, Pretty Weasel, Morning, and Bright Wings. Please excuse us if we have forgotten you in our time of grief.
