Gwendolyn June Cooper, 85, of Monett, MO, passed from this life to her Heavenly home on Wednesday evening, November 27, 2024, while at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO.


Gwennie, as she was called that knew her best, was born on July 5, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of the late Gordon and Georgianna Tindall. Gwen graduated from Lucy Flower High School, Chicago, IL, with the class of 1957. During her working career, she invested twenty-two years with Kodak Polychrome Graphics in Bensenville, IL, where Gwen worked in Accounting and Customer Services. In 1998, Gwen moved to Monett to be closer to her family. She had worked several years at Western Auto in Monett. She was of the Catholic faith and through the years had attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She had also volunteered at Crosslines. Gwen enjoyed many things in her life, but none more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Survivors include her sons, Robert John Cooper, Jr. and Michael G. Cooper and wife Rhonda, of Monett; three grandchildren, Brittni Marie (Cooper) Seufert and husband Zachariah, Michael Robert Cooper and wife Audrey and Matthew David Cooper; three great-grandchildren, Kendall June Seufert, Robert Ellihue Seufert and Aurora Rose Cooper; as well as a host of extended family and friends.


Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gordon William “Bill” Cooper; two brothers, Gerald and Gordon Tindall; and one sister, Rose Marie Marsh.


A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Father Rahab Isidor will be officiating. Gwen will be laid to rest at a later date in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. Memorial contributions have been suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
