Odie Lee “Rich” Richardson, the seventh of eight children was born to the union of Robert B and Leanna Richardson on June 28, 1952 in Shreveport, LA. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Saint James Baptist Church on August 13, 1962, under the leadership of the late Rev. Joseph Kemp in Pelican, LA. He was educated in DeSoto Parish and was a graduate of the All Saints-Pelican High School Class of 1971.
He moved to Shreveport in 1971 and was employed as a construction worker for two years until he was drafted into the US Army in the summer of 1974 and served for four years and was honorably discharged. His job title was Kitchen Supervisor. After his departure from the US Army, he lived in the North Carolina (Fort Bragg Area) and was employed as a Store Manager at Big Lot Stores. He later relocated to Atlanta, GA.
On Thursday Night, November 28, 2024 his Heavenly Father welcomed him home after a lengthy illness. Odie is preceded in death by his parents, Robert B and Leanna, sister, Victoria, brothers, Robert Charles, Johnny, and nephew Kenneth. Those left to cherish his memory: wife Patricia, son Miko, granddaughter Zora. A brother, LC of Houston, TX, sisters, Sarah, Lillie, Lottie all of Shreveport, LA and a play sister Lillian Jones. Four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Nieces: Cynthia, Patricia, Ericka, Tiffany, Shereka, LaQuetta, Kimberly, Terrica and Breanna Nephews Terance and James Jr., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Boston's Funeral and cremation Service from 4-6:00 PM. Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Boston's Funeral and cremation Service at 11:00 AM. Interment is private.
