Frank A. Straka, Sr. Obituary

Frank Straka, Sr., 81 passed away peacefully surrounded by love. He proudly served in the New Jersey Army National Guard for six years from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1971. Frank worked for United Parcel Service for 30 years from 1969 until his retirement in 1999. Born in Newark New Jersey, he settled in Barnegat for nearly 50 years. He was one of the founding members of the Barnegat soccer club, coaching his sons and their friends for many years.

He leaves behind the family he always put ahead of himself, especially his loving wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Straka, (nee Lagos) his sons, Frank along with his wife Ann, Michael, and his devoted daughter and son in law Melissa and Joseph English. His greatest pride and joy were his five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Calvin Moseman and his wife Stephanie along with their

children Steven and Claire, Gregory and Alexandria English and Maxine and Olive Straka. You could find Frank tending to his yard, doing his almost daily ShopRite run, cheering on the New York Yankees, or at the beck and call of his granddaughter Ali Mae, where he took it upon himself the task of being her personal driver. He will be remembered for his gentle kindness, selflessness, and his ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved, but above all his genuine smile.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM at the Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ 08005. (www.BarnegatFH.com)
