C. Richard “Dick” Hough passed away peacefully at age 77 surrounded by his loving family on November 27, 2024 at Uniontown Hospital. He was born February 2nd, 1947 in Connellville, PA, a son of the late Clarence “Peck” Hough and Sarah “Sally” Hough of Connellville.

Dick was a 1965 graduate of Connellville High School. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1968-1970. Dick was employed for 30+ years and retired from Robert Shaw Controls in New Stanton, PA.

He was an avid golfer for most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, he loved good food and all sports, but was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Dick is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jeanne Hough of Connellsville; his son, John S. Hough Sr. of Connellville; daughter, Tara Rose (James) of Selbyville, DE; ex-wife and mother of his children, Christine Caringola of Connellville;stepdaughter, Dawn Miller of Norwalk, CT; stepson, Doug Grant (Merry Pain) of Greenwich, CT; daughter-in-law, Ann Hough of Lusby, MA; sisters, Mary Craig, Kay Eicher (James), and Serena Taylor; brother Ralph Hough (Debbie); sisters-in-law, Nancy Hough and Patty Hough; grandsons, John S. Hough Jr. (Mary), Patrick Hough, Richard Hough, Ethan Koslosky, Luke Hough, Colin Koslosky, Jackson Grant, Chistrian Grant, Samuel Hough and Kieran Grant; great-grandsons, Finnegan “Finn” Hough and River Hough, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Richard Hough and Robert Hough; brothers, Kenneth Hough and David Hough; brothers-in-law, Ronald “Toey” Craig and Richard Taylor; sister-in-law, Maryann (Cooley) Felgar; nephew, Ronald Craig, and nephew-in-law, Eric Felgar.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to Cathy Henry for her devoted care over the past year.

Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC. 418 North Pittsburgh Street Connellsville, PA 15425 on Monday from 1pm until the hour of the funeral service at 6pm with Pastor Lee Maley officiating. 

Interment will be private.
