Margaret Strickland Boggs, 93 of Jacksonville, passed away November 27th at PAM Specialty Hospital in Rocky Mount. She was a devoted wife and mother who worked hard to ensure she provided for her family. After leaving the workplace, she volunteered her time assisting members of the community in such things as driving cancer patients to needed doctor’s appointments and serving in the Ladies Auxiliary and the FRA, earning a lot of recognition and awards for her service to others and to the groups she belonged to.
A memorial service will be held at Community Christian Church of Richlands on Thursday, December 5th at 2PM with Pastor James Warren officiating.
Margaret is preceded in death by her first husband William Edgar Scott and second husband William Ralph Boggs; sons Danny Ray Scott and Willliam Edward Scott; sister Faye Belvin; and brothers Bill Strickland and Robert Strickland. She is survived by her sons Larry Scott (Yvonne) of Clayton, NC, Victor Scott of Jacksonville, NC, Jeff Scott (Regina) of Richlands; stepchildren Robbie Boggs of Clayton, NC and Michelle Boggs of Minnesota; brother Donald Strickland and wife Phyllis of Garner, NC, sister Alease Scott of Smithfield, NC, and Carolyn Porter of Smithfield, NC; step brother Curtis Garner of Smithfield, NC; step sister Betty Lou Jones of Smithfield, NC; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, and many beloved extended family members.
