Judson Carlton Bivins, age 94, of Mt. Vernon, GA, passed away November 27, 2024, at Oxley Park in Lyons, GA.  He was born December 3, 1929, in West Palm Beach, FL, to the late Julius Stephen and Esther Catherine Geiger Bivins.  Mr. Bivins was a United States Navy veteran and a Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law graduate.  He owned and operated a private law firm in Mt. Vernon for more than 60 years.  He was a member of College Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and a longtime member of the Georgia Bar Association and the American Bar Association.       

Mr. Bivins is survived by his brother: Harold “Sonny” Bivins Sr. LtCol, USMC, Retired; cousin: Nancy Geiger Pinckney (Scott Pinckney Col, USAF, Retired); nieces and nephews: Betty Ann Fleenor (Courtney), Dr. Catherine Bivins, Dr. Harold Bivins Jr. (Kimberly), Drake Bivins (Dr. Mary Moore), and Camille Smith; and ten great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded by his parents, sister, Esther Ann Bivins, and brother, Dr. Blake Stephen Bivins. 

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.
