Maryann Matessino, a cherished resident of Dobbs Ferry for over 60 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on November 27, 2024. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose kindness and warmth touched all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack D. Matessino, in 2019. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.
She is survived by her children, Linda Fastiggi, Michael Matessio, Jack Matessino (Andie), and Jean Massotti (John). She was the proud grandmother of Lindsay, Jaime, Nicole, Kara, Kate, Amanda, Payton, and Brooke, and the adoring great-grandmother to Aurelia and Viviana. Her family was the center of her world, and she shared a special bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A deeply faithful woman, she was an active member of Our Lady of Pompeii Church, serving with dedication on the Altar Guild. Her involvement extended to senior groups in both Dobbs Ferry and Yorktown, where she brought her joy and energy to every gathering.
She loved life’s simple pleasures: baking, hosting holiday celebrations, dancing (always the first on the floor), sipping wine, and enjoying the company of her beloved family and friends. In her younger days, she was an avid ice skater and loved family vacations at the beach. Known for her impeccable style, she never left the house without her earrings and lipstick, always looking her best.
Her home was a haven for all, with an open door and a helping hand extended to anyone in need. Her generosity, fun-loving spirit, and genuine kindness will forever be remembered.
She was a truly wonderful woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
