Helen Lamastus Obituary

Helen Lamastus age 99 of Anna passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 1:02 AM at home. She was born the daughter of George and Elva (Clark) Kopp on August 13, 1925 in Sidney.

Helen is survived by her loving family, daughters Cynthia Lamastus and Bonnie (Larry) Henderson, grandchildren Holly (Aaron) Musselman and
Julie (Joel) Howell, great grandchildren Michaela (Tim) Pierce, Roy Musselman, Lillie and Dawson Howell, great great-grandchildren Paris and Royce, and sister Genieve Motsinger.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband William "Bill" Lamastus who she married on June 8, 1946.

A cherished member of the Anna Methodist Church, she was known for her faith and active involvement in church activities, where she found joy in serving others.

Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, where she could often be found in her favorite chair, with her beloved dog Bailey nestled on her lap. Her great-great-granddaughter, Paris, was her constant companion, sharing countless moments of joy and laughter over bowls of popcorn. These simple pleasures were the essence of her life, reflecting her love for family and the small joys that brought them together.

A passionate gardener, she found solace and beauty in her backyard, tending to her flowers with care and delighting in the vibrant colors that bloomed under her nurturing touch. Her big bay window offered a perfect view of the birds she loved to watch.

Her culinary skills were legendary among family. She was the first to be called upon for a comforting home-cooked meal or her famous chocolate cake for every birthday. Cooking and baking were one of the many ways she expressed her love and care for her family.

Her ability to make everyone feel loved, valued, and accepted was a rare gift. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate the milestones of those she cared about, always sending a card to mark birthdays and special occasions. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail were hallmarks of her character, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

A strong and independent woman, she was the heart and soul of her family, nurturing and guiding five generations with wisdom and love. Her legacy is one of strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. She strived to make sure she instilled those same values into every member of her family.

As we remember her, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of sassiness. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a family united by her love, a testament to the profound impact she had on their lives.
