Joyce Marie Ehlers, 86, of Jay, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. She was born on December 30, 1937, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, and was a former resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL, moving to Jay five years ago.
She was a member of the Church of God where she played piano for sixty years. She was also a member of the Ft. Walton Beach Chorus, a Black Belt in Karate, and an associate degree holder. She retired from the U.S Government civil service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Beatrice Sinks Lyle, and Willie G. Lyle; her husband, Jerry Lee Ehlers; sisters, Betty Cerezo and Mary Clark; two great grandchildren, Armoni Ehlers, and Xander Ehlers.
She is survived by three sons; Jeffrey L. Ehlers (Tammie), Jerrold M. Ware-Ehlers (Phillip Ware- Ehlers), Jeremy L. Ehlers (Joey Arsenault); Her brother, Bill Lyle (Robin); sister, Naomi Barrett (WL ); six grandchildren; J.J. Ehlers (Melissa), Adam Ware, Brendan Ware, Michael Ehlers, AJ Ehlers, Selina Ehlers, and Jasmine Ehlers; three great grandchildren, Caleb Ehlers, Clyde Henry Ehlers, and Zohia Ashley Ehlers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Jay Funeral Chapel with Jeffrey Ehlers officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Ft. Walton Beach at 2:00 PM
