Mark McLain,58, of Amarillo passed away on November 26,2024. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Monday December 2nd, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Mark was born September 15, 1966 to Richard Conrad and Rosalie (Abbott) McLain in Fort Worth,TX. He grew up and lived in Winslow, Arizona. Not long after his family moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico where he graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1985.

Mark enlisted in the United States Army in 1989 where he became a Motor transport Operator and served his country during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. His rank was Specialist/ E-4. During his Honorable service he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), The Army Achievement Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After 3 years of honorable service Mark was honorably discharged in February 1992.

After his military service, Mark obtained his CDL, moved to Amarillo and began a successful lifelong career as a commercial truck driver. He drove nationwide and locally hauling freight, super cargo, and fuel.

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He was an avid fan of NHRA and often went to races with his brother. Mark spent his free time with his family, and especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents Richard Conrad McLain (Tucumcari,NM) and Rosalie Irene (Abbott) McLain (Winslow,AZ)

Mark is survived by his sons Brandan and wife Brenda, Calub and wife Julie, Joshua and wife Carol, grandsons: Bradan, Landan,Logan, Andrew, Calub jr, Colin, Mika, Candelario, granddaughters: Mia, Aracelli, Adriana, 2 brothers David Michael McLain (wife Kerry Sue) of Greencastle,IN and James Allen McLain of Phoenix,AZ 

2 sisters: Jennifer Lynne Jones (husband James Joseph) of San Antonio,TX and Rebecca Anne Bailey of Paris,TX; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and very close friends.
