Janet Louise Broome, formerly of Keyser and Romney, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the age of 84, at the E.A. Hawse Healthcare Center in Baker, WV.

She was born on April 12, 1940, in Romney, WV, to her parents, the late Francis and Ione (Potter) Abell. Twice married, she was preceded in death by both husbands; George Park, Sr. in 2016 and Robert Broome in 2000.

Janet was a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was a devoted mother to her children, George Park, Jr. and wife Becky of Romney and Denise Halterman and husband Brad of New Creek, WV. She was also a loving grandmother to George Park, III, Aaron Park, Zachary Halterman and Alexis Halterman and great grandmother to Sawyar, Morgan, Zoey and Trevor Park.

Throughout her life, Janet was a pillar of strength and resilience. After graduating from Romney High School in 1958, she dedicated many years serving as an Avon representative in her local community. Janet was known for her generous spirit and kind heart, always putting her family first.

One of her greatest joys was her involvement with the Living Word Christian Fellowship in New Creek, WV. Janet had a deep faith and found comfort and solace in her church family. She was truly a compassionate soul, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

A visitation will be held at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 6-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Stephon Reed will officiate the service, followed by interment at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Romney, WV.
