MARCIA A. STAPLETON
LOUDONVILLE - Marcia A. (Tibbitts) Stapleton, 98 of Loudonville, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Stapleton., entered into eternal life on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at her home with her loving family at her side.
Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Ray) Tibbitts. She married her beloved Joe on May 1, 1948 at St. Margaret Mary's Church in Albany and the two shared a blessed union of 62 years prior to his passing in 2010.
Marcia was employed by JCPenney's Drapery Department in Westgate Shopping Center in Albany for nine years. She then worked as a File Clerk for the NYS Department of Taxation & Finance in Albany for twenty years. Her most cherished and beloved role however was that of wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her family and her love and legacy will carry on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Survivors include her three loving children Linda (Donald) Meagher, Joseph R. (Nancy) Stapleton, Christine (Jeffrey) DeLaMater, her cherished grandchildren Kelly (Michael) Bender, Donald and Sean Meagher, Amy, Kerry, and Andrew Stapleton, Heather (Derek) Burrell, Jeffrey (Mollie) DeLaMater, Katie (Aaron) Judd, Airen and Gregory DeLaMater, and Megan (Kyle) McCarthy, as well as her sixteen adored great-grandchildren Joseph (Mary Margaret), Natalie, Rachel, and Ryan Bender, Teddy and Sammy Stapleton, Lilly and Cody Burrell, Ava and Felix Judd, Eleanor, Zoe, Lucius, and Wesley DeLaMater, Silas LeBeau, and Alice Young.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Marcia is predeceased by her brothers James and John Tibbitts and great-granddaughter Michaela Bender.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 4 to 6 PM at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Reverend Daniel Vallejo, celebrant. Interment beside her husband at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont to immediately follow the mass.
