MORTON – Georgia Anthony, 96, of Morton passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on November 9, 1928, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Louis Sr. and Molly (Joseph) Antone. Georgia married Victor Anthony on June 1, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Fred Antone; two sisters, Adele Gidley and Mary Ann Brothers; and one grandson, Freddie Anthony.

Georgia is survived by six children, Victor Jr. (Carol) Anthony of Morton, Michael (Rebecca) Anthony of Cobourg, Ontario, Canada, David (Nancy) Anthony of Washington, Meri (Chuck) Tucker of Morton, Marc (Jan) Anthony of Goodfield, James (Brenda) Anthony of Naperville, Illinois; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Hill of Loveland, Ohio; and her dear friend, Judy Shea.

Georgia graduated from St. Catherine Academy High School.

Throughout her career, Georgia worked in a factory during WWII, was a telephone operator, medical receptionist, legal secretary and florist. She retired from Anthony's Beit Shyben Floral Shop in 2001.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton with Father Adam Cesarek officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the church and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria.
