Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie Brashear Obituary

Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie Brashear, 91 of Brier Hill went to be with the lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.  Jacqueline was born July 27, 1933 in Brownsville, PA.  Jacqueline was the daughter of the late John and Martha Kearns of Brier Hill.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband Roy Neil Brashear. Jacqueline and Roy, married in 1952, they were happily wed for 60 years prior to his passing in 2013.  Jacqueline is also preceded in death by her sisters: Gloria Kovach, Shirley Minkus, and Merrily Ujchick all of Brier Hill.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Timothy John Brashear Sr. (Melody Ferea) of Republic, PA. grandchildren: Timothy John Brashear Jr. (Melanie) of Uniontown, Tara Lee Means (Timothy) of Adah, and Shannon Pryce (Myles) of Masontown.  Jacqueline also leaves behind her sister, Marion Luke of Pittsburgh, PA.  In addition to her sister, Jacqueline leaves behind her great-grandchildren whom she loved and cherished deeply: Macie Lee Means, Hunter Timothy Means, Gavin Christopher Brashear, Kasen Joseph Brashear, Alaina Lee Pryce, Brianna Marie Pryce, and Easton Myles Pryce.  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly, especially Fred and Vikki Kovach of Grindstone, PA.

Jacqueline was a graduate of Redstone High School, where she earned her diploma in 1952.  In Jackie's early years she was an employee of several establishments including Dairy Queen, Howard Johnson, and Gil’s. Jacqueline's greatest and most prestigious job was that of a mother, even taking on her own grandchildren in their time of need.

Jacqueline enjoyed having people over to visit whether it was sitting and chatting on the porch or serving coffee along with nut rolls and pie while surrounding the kitchen table. She also enjoyed baking and cooking that left no one ever to go home with an empty stomach.  She greatly enjoyed playing games with her great grandchildren, as well as attending their baseball and softball games at any chance.
She loved to watch her Steelers, and The Lawrence Welk show.

Her son and grandchildren would like for everyone to remember Jackie as being the kind-hearted, full of wisdom, quick-witted motherly figure as she was to all that she welcomed into her home.  She touched the lives of many, making a huge impact on all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Uniontown Hospital, special friend and nurse, Katie Guard, as well as Amedisys Hospice Healthcare for the wonderful care they provided for Jacqueline.

Jacqueline’s family will be received from 2 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Kish-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 19 Legion Street, Republic, where prayers of transfer will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. Monday, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in the Historic Church of St. Peter, Brownsville, Pa with Father Efren Ambre as celebrant.
