EARL JESSE JERZYK SR., 83 of Wallace, MI passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday November 27, 2024. Earl was born on February 3, 1941 in Menominee to Earl John and Ruth (Bunker) Weissgerber. He proudly served his Country in the United States Navy from 1958 until 1968. On February 21, 1961, Earl married Audrey Gail Love in Nahunta, GA. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2015. Earl managed a Phillipps 66 gas station, managed Camp Bayou, owned and operated Earl’s Concrete and also Earl’s Refrigeration and Appliance Repair. Earl loved trains, polkas, the Cut River Bridge and deer hunting. He further enjoyed being around the water enjoying waterfalls and sail boating. Earl had a special love for piano music and lighthouses, fondly remembering when his grandfather was the lighthouse keeper in Menominee.


Survivors include his 2 daughters: Mimi (Tom) Schultz and Marissa (Bill) Kuntze; 2 sons: Earl Jr. “Toby” (Lisa) Jerzyk and Haston Jerzyk; 7 grandchildren: William (Stephanie) Kuntze, Kaila (Rob) McKinnon) Jerzyk, Grant Williams, Leah (Zach) Taylor, JennaFaye (Gavin) Crow, Hannah Jerzyk and Madilyn Jerzyk; 6 great grandchildren: Liam, Danny, Brennan, Audreya, Kennedy and Asher; brother: James (Paula) Jerzyk; half siblings: Linda (Chad) Haen, Laura (Nicolas) Lesperance, Earl (Rose) Weissgerber, Lee Weissgerber, Larry Weissgerber, Lila Anne and Louis (Janet) Weissgerber; step sisters: Rosanne (Tom) Nelson and Mary Nemetz; many nieces and nephews; and special family, friends and camping buddies: Peggy & Tom Bohlman, Tom & Denise Zeman, Rose Nemetz, Chris Nemetz, Angye Hoheneder and Steven Hoheneder.


Earl was preceded in death by his mother: Ruth (Francis) Nemetz; biological father: Earl Weissgerber; adopted father: Walter Jerzyk; wife: Audrey Gail Jerzyk; stepsister: Rose Weissgerber; stepbrothers: Buck (Dee) Nemetz and Francis (Frances) Nemetz Jr.; and special family friends and camping buddies: Don & Betty Kirt and Roger & Judy Hoheneder.


Visitation for Earl will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Saturday November 30, 2024 from 1:00 pm until time of Military Honors at 3:00 pm conducted by American Legion Post 43. A funeral service to honor Earl’s life will follow with Pastor Tim Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery.
