Caleb Sain Vandagriff Obituary

Caleb Sain Vandagriff, age 42, of Taft, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2024. Caleb was born on May 7, 1982, in Nashville, TN to Ronnie and Ann Vandagriff.

A lifelong resident of The Tennessee Valley, Caleb met the love of his life, Emily Berry, as a teenager at Hazel Green High School. They loved each other from the very beginning, and on a bench in Panama City he proposed, refusing to get on his knee. She loved it.

They married on June 11, 2006, and together they built a life full of love and laughter.

Caleb and Emily were blessed with three beautiful children: Sydnie Ruth, Sadie Elizabeth (Sadie bell) , and Sawyer (Saw man). They were the light of his life. He also raised his nephews and niece, Eli Jon, Benjamin Elton, and Ezra Nicole as his own. He loved all 6 of them with a love so fierce it changed them all for the eternal better. He was a devoted father and uncle who once said "every day is a new adventure because of kids. I hope it never ends."

Caleb’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, whether in his canoe on the river, carpooling 6 kids all over God’s green earth, eating Mexican, late night conversations on the porch, or quiet nights around the campfire. He was full of life, and his heart was as big as the very sun. His kindness, strength, selflessness, and gentleness are rarities in humanity.

Caleb was known for his courageous heart, his sense of humor, and his ability to make others feel safe. He was calm and steady and wise beyond his years. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved. Caleb’s selflessness, generosity, and compassion were evident in everything he did.

He carried in him an unfaltering faith in the Lord, living by the principles of love, kindness, and service to others. Caleb will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother in law, uncle, brother, and friend, whose presence brightened the lives of everyone who knew him.

In addition to his wife Emily, children Sydnie, Sadie, and Sawyer, Caleb is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Ann Vandagriff of Taft, TN, and his sister, Sara Vandagriff of Taft, TN. In addition are his beloved sister in law Kalan and her children Eli, Benjamin, and Ezra.

He was preceded in death by his infant son who was born sleeping and by his grandparents: James Roy Sain & Eva Mae Sain, and Willard Vandagriff & Robbie Josephine Vandagriff.

A celebration of Caleb’s life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service to follow at 1:30 PM. All are welcome to join the family in honoring Caleb’s memory and sharing in the love he so freely gave.

Caleb’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbors, and community members who have offered their love and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Caleb's eternal desire to be a used car salesman, donations may be made at the Bank of Frankewing to the Caleb Vandagriff Memorial Fund to go toward the purchase of his childrens' first vehicles.
