Sheryl Lynn Weinstein passed away peacefully on 11/28/2024 four days after celebrating her 77th birthday. She had sadly been diagnosed with cancer just a week before.

Sheryl was born on November 24th, 1947 to her loving parents Bernice and Norton Unger. She had a joyful childhood growing up in the Donnolly Gardens apartment complex in Jackson Heights, Queens with her sister Caren, spending her early childhood summers at the Congers Lake bungalow colony in Upstate NY.

Sheryl attended NYC public schools and then attended Queens College earning a Bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education in 1968. In 1972 she earned her Masters Degree from Hunter College in education. Sheryl began her distinguished teaching career educating students in Queens earning the respect of the schools' administrators, peers, parents and the students themselves who often came back to visit her in later years.

During her professional education and teaching years, Sheryl and her devoted husband Howie lived in Jackson Heights, Queens until they moved to a house in Ardsley NY. Their son Jason was born a year later after moving to Ardsley in 1976. Following her retirement in 2002, Howie and Sheryl became snowbirds traveling between NY and Florida. They traveled the world exploring foreign countries and cruising. Sheryl was always an avid reader and an enviable cook.

Sheryl is survived by her devoted, loyal and loving husband of 56 years, Howie, her sister Caren, her son Jason, daughter in law Sue and 3 adoring grandchildren Shana, Nathan and Sadie the loves of her life.
