George Russell Simpson Obituary

SIMPSON - George Russell, of Alliston, ON passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born to George and Jean on November 6, 1934 in Dundee, Scotland. George is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Mann; his son Brian (Lisa) and is predeceased by his sons George and Gerry. Beloved granddad of Stephanie and Jimmy; great-grandfather of Lilly and Reed. Cherished brother of Jim (Marg), Norman, Brian and Irene (Kevin), and predeceased by Jean, Russell, Elizabeth and Anne. George will be missed by Pat’s children Linda, Jackie, Bill and Kelly, their spouses, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Two of George’s greatest passions were golfing and finding a deal. We know he will continue to stroll the fairways dishing out advice to anyone who will listen, while popping into the odd thrift shop for his latest find.

A Celebration of George’s Life will be held in the spring. Date, time and location will be confirmed and available through www.druryfuneralcentre.com. as well as on Facebook and community newsletter.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation in Alliston https://transformingstevenson.ca/ways-to-give/gifts-made-in-honour-or-memory/
