On November 26, 2024, Patricia Colleen Haviland (née Dwyer) of Pylesville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Haviland, Sr. She is survived by her two sons: Michael A. Haviland, Jr. (wife Marni) and Bryan S. Haviland (wife Jennifer). She also leaves to mourn her five grandchildren: Maegan, Kaitlyn, Brandon, Jessica, and Trace, along with her newest family member, her great-grandchild, Beau Morris. Patricia is preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen A. Taylorson. 

Patricia was a remarkable woman whose compassion and dedication touched the lives of many. A lifelong caregiver, she served as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where her gentle touch and attentive care made a significant difference in the lives of her patients. Patricia’s commitment to her profession was a testament to her nurturing spirit, as she dedicated herself to ensuring the well-being of others, often going above and beyond to provide comfort and support.

Her love for pets exemplified her kind-hearted nature, as she found joy in caring for her furry companions and sharing that love with family and friends. Patricia's unwavering commitment to helping veterans highlighted her deep sense of empathy and gratitude for those who served. She actively sought ways to support and uplift them, understanding the sacrifices they made for their country.

Patricia was not just a mother and grandmother; she was a beacon of strength and love for her family. Her two sons, Michael and Bryan, along with her five grandchildren and great-grandchild, shared countless cherished memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love. As they gather to honor her memory, they will undoubtedly reflect on the invaluable lessons she imparted about kindness, resilience, and the importance of caring for those around us.

Her legacy of kindness, love, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Patricia’s life was a beautiful array woven with compassion and dedication, and her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, PA. 

The family will be arranging an internment at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, a fitting tribute to honor Patricia's enduring legacy and her deep appreciation for those who served in the armed forces. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Michael A. Haviland, Sr., reflecting their lifelong bond. Further details about the date and time of the internment will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
