Gerald Wayne Brock, age 76, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away November 26, 2024 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born in Moberly, Missouri, to Herbert Wayne Brock Sr. and Mildred Louise (Hess) Brock on November 3, 1948.

He attended and graduated from Moberly High School. After high school, he attended Moberly Junior College and earned an associate degree. He then proceeded to serve our country by joining the Army in February of 1969. He served in the Vietnam war from July 1969 to July 1970 and was honorably discharged in February of 1971. He went on to work at Industrial Electric, Springfield Electric, and Paul Mueller. He was very involved with Life360 Chesterfield Church in Springfield, Missouri

Gerald married the love of his life, Sharon Ann Hinshaw, on June 7, 1968. To this union was born Laura Katherine McVay.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Sharon Brock of Springfield, Missouri; his daughter, Laura McVay of Nixa, Missouri; his son-in-law, Stuart McVay of Nixa, Missouri; his grandson, Dustin Walker of Kansas City, Missouri; his brother, Marvin Brock and his wife Joan of Tucson, Arizona; and his brother, Junior Brock and wife Angie of Moberly, Missouri.

He enjoyed going to church and doing activities with his church family. He also enjoyed traveling, golfing, and sports - especially baseball. He just recently had finished visiting all MLB stadiums.

A visitation will be held on December 4, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri. Funeral service will be held the following day, December 5, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Life 360 Chesterfield Church in Springfield, Missouri. A committal service with full military honors will follow the service at 1:00 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
