Janet Marie Whitelaw

August 8, 1937 - November 27, 2024

Janet Marie Whitelaw (nee: Eckert), age 87, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She was born on August 8, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to the Helen Brown.

She was the devoted wife of the late James Whitelaw for 63 years. Cherished mother of Theresa Kortkamp of O'Fallon; Christina (Joe) Wooldridge of Lake Saint Louis; Elizabeth (Richard) Burkemper of Wentzville; Katie (Roger) Ohlms of Wentzville. Loving Grandma of 11 and great grandma of 17. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend of many, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janet volunteered at All Saints School for many years, and was also a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She was Girl Scout leader and after her girls were grown she worked at K-Mart for almost 20 years. Janet was an enthusiastic Cardinal fan. She was extremely generous to many charities. During COVID, she made hundreds of masks for the residents of Twin Oaks, where she lived happily for the last few years of her life.

Janet's family would like to thank the staff at Twin Oaks for their loving and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024 immediately followed by a 1:00PM Funeral Mass at Sts. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, 4112 McClay Rd., St. Charles, MO 63304. Fr. Chuck Barthel will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Philippine Cemetery.
