Dennis J. Collins, age 69, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 26 2024 after a long fought battle with multiple cancers. 

Together with family and friends, there will be a gathering for a Celebration of Life honoring Dennis Collins.

Dennis was born on August 07, 1955 to the late Edward and Mary Collins. He earned his Masters Degree, graduating from both Cayuga Community College and Empire State University in Syracuse. 

He devoted 29 years working at the Nestle Chocolate Factory, and eventually returned to Cayuga Community College to teach Business as a Professor. You could often find Dennis at the Cayuga library when he wasn’t teaching. He loved his fellow faculty, he loved his students  and he had a true passion for his work, up until the very end. 

His other hobbies over the years included hunting, golf, fishing and baseball. He was so proud of his children, and cherished being a grandpa. 

Surviving is his life partner  of over 30 years; Thea Compeau, his children; Chris Collins, Ivan Collins and Lawrence Durfey Jr., his siblings; Edward Collins, Kathy Rafferty, Karen Miner, Jimmy Collins, Timmy Collins, MaryAnn Champion, and Steven Collins, his grandchildren; Katie, Jazmine, Nathan, Jayden, a great grandchild; Emerson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
