Bettye Sue Pate, 95, widow of Carl E. Pate, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Born in Manchester, KY, she was the daughter of the late Alferd Stanley and Willie Marcum Mould.
Bettye Sue worked with her family at Cumberland Telephone Company in southeast Kentucky for many years, but dedicated herself as a wife and mother. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity in Georgetown, enjoyed playing bridge and working crossword puzzles. In recent years, she cherished her time with family and family events.
She is survived by her children, James Whitney (Caryn) Pate and Elizabeth Susan Misheff; daughter-in-law, Marcia Pate; grandchildren, Jenean (Adam) Farmer, Whitney Jacob Pate, Ryan Parker, James Wesley Pate, Stephen Kyle (Cheyanne) Pate, Sarah Misheff and Rachel Misheff (Lane) Fox; great grandchildren, Olivia Ocampo, Ayden Famer, Tyler Pate, Lane Parker, Breezy Parker, Phoenix Parker and Miles Elliott Pate. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Deborah Ruth Pate and Stanley Carl Pate.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Johnson’s Funeral Home, conducted by Deacon Linc Hartling. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time. Burial will be 10 AM Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quest Farm or Bluegrass Hospice Care.
