Clyde Elmo Torrence, 99, of Lynchburg died Tuesday, November 26, 2024. He was the husband of Lorene (“Partner”) Dalton Torrence for 78 years. Born March 8, 1925, he was a son of the late Madison Irvin Torrence and Georgie Jordan Torrence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Torrence and Leroy Torrence.
A Veteran of World War II, Elmo was a United States Marine and served in the Pacific Theater including the Battle of Iwo Jima. He was retired from Allen Morrison Sign Company. Elmo was a longtime faithful member of Fairview Christian Church and was a former volunteer with Meals On Wheels.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Pat and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held in the mausoleum at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Christ Carter of Fairview Christian Church.
