ELGIN- A celebration of life service for Taquania Alisha Murphy, 42, will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Earthly Haskell will officiate.

Ms. Murphy passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Born in Fort Sill, OK, she was a daughter of Tony Alonzo Murphy I and the late Roberta Vernice Murphy. Ms. Murphy enjoyed crafts and planting flowers.

Surviving are her children, Uzziah Thomas-Murphy, Elisha Thomas-Murphy, Jaeda Mitchell, Xavier Moody, Jr. all of Elgin; father and step-mother, Tony Murphy I and Jeanette Murphy; siblings, Tony Alonzo Murphy II (Toya), Jamal Murphy; step-brothers, Bryston Harris, Nathan Wages, Jr, DeShawn Wages (Alex); and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family is not accepting visitors at the home.
