Meg Duquette Obituary

Margaret Ann (Meg) Duquette of Plattsburgh, NY, passed peacefully in the arms of the Lord on November 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 3, 1938, to Herman and Marion (Rollier) Squires.


Margaret married the love of her life, Clark (Duke) Duquette, in 1956. They were devoted to each other for 66 years. She was also devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.


A 1956 graduate of Plattsburgh High School, Margaret was a gifted artist in watercolor and oil painting. She was a great cook and enjoyed sewing and cross-stitch, Margaret was a member of the Peru Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and volunteered at Peru Central School.


She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, a sister, Elizabeth Botten (Charles) and a brother, James Squires (Heidi).


Left to cherish her memory are her four children, daughters Rebecca Baker (William) of Chazy, NY, and Jayne Duquette of Atlantic Beach, FL; sons Daniel Duquette (Laurie) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Adam Duquette (Tracy) of Cadyville, NY; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 10 to 11 AM at St. Augustine’s Church, 3035 Main St., Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Rev. William G. Reamer, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margaret Duquette may be made to the Peru Volunteer Fire Department.
