Her Legacy… Ella Lee Joyner, “Ellie”, 93, passed away November 26, 2024. She was born on April 17, 1931, in Mauldin, Arkansas to David Smalling and Ethel (Bates) Smalling. Ellie was raised as an only child by her grandparents and graduated from Norman High school in Arkansas in 1949. She will be remembered as a social butterfly who loved to travel with a cruise group, as this was her favorite type of travel. In more recent days, Ellie liked to watch football, Family Feud hosted by Steve Harvey and crochet blankets and potholders to give them to her family.
Her Family… Ellie is survived by her twin daughters, Sharon Sinko, Karen Hawley; grandchildren, Shaun, Scott, Shane, Madison, Samantha, Chris, Courtney; and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Ethel Smalling; first husband, Harold “Burt” Cowie; second husband, James Joyner; daughter, Nancy Wilber; grandson, Matt.
