Beverly R. Medeiros
NEW BEDFORD, MA – Beverly R. Medeiros, 74, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 after a prolonged illness. She passed from this life into eternity while being comforted by her loving sister Madelyn and brother-in-law Kenneth Soares. Beverly was born on September 8, 1944 in New Bedford and was a daughter of the late Antone Perry Medeiros and Cisaltina Souza Medeiros and a sister of the late Robert P. Medeiros. Beverly grew up in New Bedford, MA and lived all of her life in the city where she also completed her education. She lived a purposeful life of service to others caring for family members and serving most of her life as a dietician and cook in the New Bedford School System. Her life was that of complete and unselfish service to others. She is survived by her only daughter, Lindsey Medeiros of Bourne, MA, her siblings Kenneth and his wife Pauline Medeiros of Wareham, MA, Sandra and her husband Angelo De Deus of New Bedford, MA, Patricia and her husband Antone Amaral of Dartmouth, MA, Madelyn and her husband Kenneth Soares of New Bedford, MA, Douglas A. Medeiros of New Bedford, MA, Garry and his wife Joanna Medeiros of New Bedford, MA, Rosalie, a sister-in-law and the wife of the late Robert P. Medeiros, and many, many nieces and nephews. Beverly will be remembered for her gentle kindness and unselfish and generous spirit. She was loved by many, and her memory will live on through all of the lives she touched through her goodwill, abiding faith, and love for family and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday morning, October 25th from 8 to 10 at the Aubertine - Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740. The visiting hours will be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 230 Bonney St., New Bedford, MA 02740 followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery, 664 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740.
