Carol E. Bottari Obituary

South Glens Falls

Carol E. Bottari, 90, of South Glens Falls, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024. A daughter of the late George and Marie (Holmquist) DeGarmo.

Carol was a graduate of Warrensburg High School, Warrensburg, NY and Albany Business School, Albany, NY. She was employed at Albany Veterans Affairs Medical Center for several years before relocating to South Glens Falls. She worked as a medical transcriptionist in the Glens Falls area for 40+ years and also assisted at St. Michael's Rectory in her earlier years in the parish. Carol also served on the bereavement committee at St. Michael's parish.

Carol lived life to the fullest, embracing the joy in both big adventures and simple moments. Her love for the beach, cruises and group bus tours in her earlier years brought excitement and new experiences. She cherished her family gatherings and holidays, creating lasting memories with her children and grandchildren, enjoying puzzles, board games, and playing cards. She would play cards and games with friends, in-person and online. She connected with people, whether through games, laughter, or casual conversations at the grocery store or her favorite dining venues and it speaks to her incredible sense of humor and warmth.

She is survived by her daughter Kimberly and her husband Jim Morgan of South Glens Falls; son Christopher Bottari of South Glens Falls; daughter Teresa Bottari of Queensbury; son Robert Bottari and his wife Lee (Severino) of Wimauma, FL; daughter Nancy and her husband Christien Asselin of Warren, RI; grandchildren Michael Bottari and his fiancé Kristen Lemme ; Breanna (Bottari) and her husband Josh Davis; Tyler Morgan; Brandon Morgan; Brian Bottari. She was the sister of Donna (DeGarmo) and her husband James Prendergast of The Villages, FL; sister-in-law Suzanne (Bottari) Hanson. Carol had many nieces and nephews along with many cousins.

Services will be at St. Michael The Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls, NY, where the family will receive relatives and guests for visitation from 10am to 11am on Thursday, December 5, 2024, followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am with Rev. Guy A. Childs, pastor, officiating.

Rite of committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Main St., South Glens Falls.

With the giving season upon us the family suggests memorial donations in Carol’s memory can be made to a local charity of one’s choice.
