Dr. George Howard McCain, age 100, of Painesville, Ohio died November 27, 2024 in Painesville, Ohio. He was born November 15, 1924 in Flora, Indiana to the late George and Leona McCain.
Howard was a veteran of World War II serving as an Army Chaplain Assistant. Following his service in the Army, he retired from Diamond Shamrock in 1983 as a Chemist. He was a member of the Painesville United Methodist Church and a former member of Painesville Lions Club.
Howard is survived by his daughter Rebecca and Richard Jackman, grandchildren Amanda (Peter) Katsilis, Emily Jackman, Jeremy Patchin, Hannah (Leroy) Cruz, Sara (TIm) Bates, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years Janet Mae McCain, his brother Charles David McCain, sisters Lois McCain Sciacchitano and Kathryn McCain Walker and Brother-in-law Dr. Mark Walker.
Private burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Music Programs at Painesville United Methodist Church or St. James Episcopal Church.
