George W. Roney, 68, of Kennerdell, PA., passed away Tuesday Nov. 26, 2024 at UPMC-NW in Seneca after a period of declining health.
Born Sept. 25, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA., he was the son of the late George and Marie Dadisch Roney.
George was a graduate of Carrick High School.
He married the former Maryann S. Dietz on Aug. 26, 1978 in Brentwood and she preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2023
George had worked in the electronics field as a repairman, and had also worked as an EMT.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Naturally he enjoyed tinkering with tv’s and computers and fixing any problems they had.
He also enjoyed grilling and smoking meats.
George is survived by his two daughters
Sharyn Roney and her partner Michael Melfi of Pittsburgh,
Michelle Eakin and her husband Clint of Kennerdell
Four grandchildren
Chase, Casey, Mariah and Theresa
Two sisters
Susan Gaeteao and her husband Gary of FL.
Bonnie Rice and her husband Steven of CA.
A brother-in-law
Michael Dietz
And very close friends Tony Barbaryka and Angie Visconti and their son Luke
And special cousin Richard Miller and his wife Loretta
He was preceded in death by a sister Linda Bates and by a brother John Shoemaker Wills.
And his parents George and Marie Roney and Robert and Betty McCutcheon
A Celebration for he and Maryann is planned in the spring.
Memorials may be made to the Kennerdell Volunteer Fire Dept.
