Edwin C. Danley, Jr., of Durham, died Tuesday, November 26, 2024 following a long illness. He was 64.
Ed was born on September 23, 1960, in Dayton Ohio. He grew up in Corpus Christi, TX and had spent the last 38 years in Durham.
Ed earned his bachelor's degree in law enforcement and became a MP assigned to Augsburg, Germany and El Paso, Texas. Next, he worked as a law enforcement officer at Duke University and in more recent years, worked as a United Nations Security/Peace-Keeper around the world in Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, the Marshall Islands, and the Ukraine.
Edwin was pre-deceased by his parents, Edwin C. Danley, Sr., and Yvonne Jones. He is survived by his long time fiancee, Jeannie Collier, his son Dustin Danley, his sister Deborah Morck (John), step-sons, Brenson (Chanell) and Scott Brewer, and his former wives as well as special caretakers, Jessie Bennington and Barbara Hales and many cousins and relatives in Texas.
The family will have a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, gisft in his memory may be sent to the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Durham.
