COLERAIN, NC - Betty Lou Mizelle Butler, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 26, 2024 in Colerain, NC at the age of 77. Born on August 3, 1947, in Windsor, NC, Betty touched the lives of many with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Betty was a devoted member of Elm Grove Baptist Church, where she enjoyed worshipping with friends and family. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she cherished the fellowship and friendships she made there.

For many years, Betty worked as a Manager at the Duck Thru Convenience Store, where she was known for her hard work, dedication and warm smile. After retiring, she embraced her passions for arts and crafts, spending countless hours crocheting many unique items, with beautiful baby blankets being her favorite. Her talent extended to making jewelry, each piece being made with her special touch and she often gifted these to friends and family.

A true enthusiast of Sci-Fi, Betty particularly enjoyed watching "Ancient Aliens," finding wonder in the mysteries of the universe. Her curiosity and imagination were infectious, sparking lively conversations with those around her and she often inspired her family to watch along with her.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving parents, Phoebe and Lewis Mizelle, her brothers Junior Mizelle and Jeffery Mizelle, her sister Justine Mizelle Wilkins, and her loving husband, Garland "Billy" Rhea Butler.

Betty leaves behind her family who will miss her dearly and who will cherish the memories made with her through the years.
