Risa Elaine Jackson Slusser, 68, formerly of 510 Sparta Lane and Magnolia Manor, returned to the Lord on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice house. Born in and lifelong resident of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Grover Cleveland (G.C.) Jackson Jr. and Julia (June) Young Jackson.
Ms. Slusser graduated from Dorman High School in 1975 afterwards she attended Spartanburg Methodist College pursuing an education degree. She worked at multiple retail stores and local shops in the Spartanburg area. She was a member of Church Builders Tabernacle.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Raymond Slusser III, a sister, Janice Lynn Cartee, a niece, Lauren Cartee, and two great-nieces, Samantha and Caylee Girard, all of Spartanburg. She was predeceased by her brother, Keith R. Jackson.; a nephew, Jeremy Cartee.; and a niece, Nicole Cartee.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. On Saturday, December 7th at Church Builders Tabernacle, 127 Fremont Ave with Evangelist Kittie Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
