Bob Pringle, 78, of Creston, died Saturday October 20, 2018, at his home near Creston. A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday October 27, 2018 at the Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Burial will be private. Pastor Chuck Spindler will officiate. Visitation with family receiving friends will be 12:30 to 2:00 PM Saturday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Union County Fair Board-Equine Division or SWCC Foundation Scholarship or the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com. Robert Charles Pringle son of Mineta A. (Booth) Pringle and Charles Lewis Pringle was born on December 29, 1939 in Fairfield, Iowa. Bob graduated from Fairfield High School in 1958. In December of 1961, Bob was united in marriage to Judy Johnston in Fairfield. They settled in Fairfield where Bob worked for French-Reneker as a surveyor. In 1970, the family moved to Tuscola, Illinois where Bob managed a fertilizer plant. In 1972, Bob moved to Creston starting a business in civil engineering partnering with John Potts and Lynn Sickles as they launched Mid-State Engineering. Bob and John sold Mid-State Engineering to Howard R. Green in 1986 and Bob continued working for them. Bob and Judy divorced in 1996. In 2003, Bob was united in marriage to Wendy Sue (Culver) Frank in Creston. Bob retired in 2003, and the couple settled in Edgewood, New Mexico. They returned to Creston in 2006. Bob enjoyed driving the Southwestern Community College Activity Bus, interacting with students and athletes, until his health made him retire. Bob was an avid outdoorsman enjoying horseback riding and training bird dogs. He loved riding horses in the mountains and took several trips to Wyoming with friends across the state. While living in New Mexico he rode the trails in the Pecos Mountains. He loved sharing time on the “farm” with his grandchildren. Bob spent many hours and traveled lots of miles watching his grandson Grant and daughter Zaidy play sports. Bob is survived by his wife Wendy Pringle of Creston, IA; three daughters Stacy (husband Jan) Pringle Pyrtle of Osage Beach, MO; Alison (husband Jerry) Cowling of Norwalk, IA; and Kanzaidy (husband Seth) Tjelmeland of McCallsburg, IA and a step-son Robert Frank III (wife Kelly) of Omaha NE; six grandchildren: Grant Wood, Harper, Hadley & Harlow Cowling, Serenity and Royal Frank.
