Yvonne Marie Henderson

HENDERSON, Yvonne M. 9/2/1941 – 10/20/2018 Age 77 years of Omaha Yvonne Marie Henderson was born on September 2, 1941, in Omaha, NE, to Carl and Geraldine King. She was the eldest of 5 children. She attended St. Benedict's, graduated from Central High School, and took college classes at UNO. Yvonne had a career at Northwestern Bell with multiple advancements while raising her two oldest sons. Later, after marrying Marvin Sr., she decided to become a homemaker while raising her daughter and third son. She spent more than three decades battling an autoimmune disease but handled it with grace and dignity while embracing life with her family and friends. Yvonne was a strong, outspoken, and loving woman who was organized, meticulous, always prepared, and in many ways a perfectionist because she wanted the best for those she loved. She enjoyed many forms of crafts and was drawn to it after taking classes with and learning from her mother. Yvonne was especially known for her crochet, quilting, needlepoint, and ceramics. She relished craft shows, traveling with her family, and playing the piano and organ. For many years, she was an avid collector of nativity scenes, angels, snowmen, and frogs. Yvonne was known for always remembering special occasions involving her family and friends, including birthdays and holidays. Yvonne actively donated to various causes. She was a devout Christian who enjoyed reading and constantly learning from her Bible. More than anything, Yvonne had a special place in her heart for her family and dearest friends. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Carl King and Geraldine King, and sister Billie Karen Burlison. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Marvin Henderson, Sr.; her sons Jay (Sabrina) Murrell and Byron (Gwenette) Murrell from a previous marriage; her son Marvin Henderson, Jr., and daughter Kristie (Sherman) Willis from her union with Marvin, Sr.; her brothers Carl (Melba) King and Brian (Dorothy) King; her sister Ginger Scott; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and her many friends.
