James “Jimmy” W. McKinney, Jr., 65, of Saluda, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Newberry Memorial Hospital. Born on November 29, 1952 in Greenwood, he was a son of the late James W. McKinney, Sr. and Juanita Giles McKinney Livingston. Jimmy worked for Flour Daniels. He enjoyed searching for and collecting Native American artifacts and working with all of nature. Hunting, fishing and wood working were some of his favorite pastimes. He loved his animals. Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Whitten McKinney; children, William McKinney (LouAnn) of Saluda, Susan Foster (Leonard) of Prosperity, Brandi Escobar (Selvin) of Gray Court and Clint McKinney (Nan) of Saluda,; step children, Paul Moore (Gwen) of Savannah, GA and Ray Moore (Mary) of Bowling Green, KY; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Jr. “Calvin” Livingston (Donna) of Prosperity and a special “sister”, Wanda Livingston (Mark) of Pomaria. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a great grandchild, Adalynn Davis and stepfather, Calvin Livingston who raised him. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Bannister, Randy Turner, Owen Strickland, Mike Cook, Tommy Cain, Mark Livingston and Clifford Foster.
