Joan Davenport Phelps, 87, passed away, Saturday, October 20, 2018 surrounded by her beloved daughters and treasured grandchildren. She was born January 13, 1931 in Riverside, Kentucky to the late William Sylvester and Carrie (Bryson) Davenport. Joan was a member of Riverside Christian Church and a housewife. Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Raleigh H. Phelps, grandson, Paul Andrew Devine, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include five daughters, Martha (John) Borrowman of Gallatin, TN, Judy (John Powell) Pflueger, Linda Phelps, Susan (Don) Devine, Kari (Dan) McCloud all of Bowling Green. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Serveral nieces, nephews, and host of friends also survive. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 22, 2018 at J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel, with Rev. Alton Little officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Friends may visit with the family from 3-6PM on Sunday and 9 AM until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
