Craig A. Brindle
St. Clair, Michigan
Formally of Linwood
Craig Alan Brindle, aged 64, left us for his next great adventure on November 21, 2024. Loved for everything he was and wasn’t, all who knew him will deeply miss his warm presence, mustache kisses, and wheezy, belly laugh.
The son of the late Gerald and Arlene (Joy) Richard, Craig was born on April 29th, 1960. He and his brothers (Calvin, Jerry, Jeffrey, and Todd), who preceded him in death, spent their formative years in Fair Haven, Michigan. A wild spirit, Craig was charismatic and moved through life as he pleased. He was known for traveling, hunting, fishing, and trap shooting, as well as his signature style, which included a well-worn baseball cap, camo, and homemade cut-off jean jorts.
Craig and his wife, Kimberly, met in their thirties and quickly started their family. He was proud to know his children were “well fed with a roof over their head” and worked various construction jobs throughout his life. Rarely sitting still, he was usually tinkering with or building something. He was resourceful and could make anything work with a roll of electrical tape, J-B weld, and a few choice words.
In his free time, Craig was an avid outdoorsman and was always eager to get into the woods or on the water, whether it be by himself, with his girls, or with a friend. He was always happy to share what he harvested and never thought twice about a fish fry, a cold beer, and a crudely placed joke. He was generally surrounded by friends who extended their love to his family, making them our family. His life exemplified having a good time, being loyal to those you love, and living simply. Even with nothing, he had everything.
Craig is survived by his daughters, Brooke Brindle (Christopher) and Dakota Fordt (Zachary), their mother, Kimberly Brindle, and his grandson, who he adored, Jensen James, AKA “Little Craiger,” as well as his companion, Judith Kitching. His memory will be held closely by those who loved him.
There are no services at this time. Craig was cremated and a private Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends, around his birthday, in the spring. In place of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Shooting Ranges, as he was dedicated to sharing the joy of hunting and gun safety with younger generations.
