Frances was a supportive aunt to her three nieces. Cheryl (Joe) Abbed of California, Aleta (Ray) Garcia of Olivet and Yvonna (Deivis) Carnieri of California, when a tragic accident took their mothers life. Frances was a fight; she did not let illness stop her form enjoying life. She loved to shop for the latest fashions and was an avid doll collector. She loved to travel all over the country as well as Europe. She often shared her extensive photography collection of her travels with friends and family. She was an excellent cool and was well known for her pecan, pumpkin and blackberry pie. Frances came from a family of musicians, she played the xylophone, accordion, organ and piano. The Crook reunions were always full of music, singing and rejoicing. Frances was an accomplished pianist and taught piano lessons for over 40 years. Frances graduated from the University of Illinois receiving several degrees as well as a Master’s in Education. She was also and elementary teacher in the Danville school district for many years as well as graduating from the School of Nursing in 1997, working as a home care nurse. She loved children and was an advocate for life-long learning. You could often find Frances and her dog, Panda, at the Danville Sunset Memorial Park. She loved taking pictures of the adult and baby swans in their beautiful and serene pond. She loved the calm and peaceful setting. She and Panda were always together, he was her faithful companion. Frances was the youngest of 10 and will be missed by her siblings, Naomi Pickenpaugh from California, Wanda Dunbar from Florida and her beloved brother James Crook of Olivet. James was dedicated to his sister and he will miss her greatly. She will also be missed by her numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
