Kenneth "Moose" Clark

Kenneth "Moose" Clark age 68 of Nashua, IA formerly of Prairie City, IA, died Saturday, October 20, 2018, at his home. Friends may greet the family 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home - Olson Chapel in Nashua. Interment will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018, at Waveland Cemetery, Prairie City, IA. with Rev. Max Wagaman officiating. Kenneth Douglas Clark was born July 30, 1950, in Prairie City, IA, the son of Kenneth and Virginia (Naisbitt) Clark. He attended school in Prairie City graduating from Prairie City High School in 1968. Ken was active in sports during high school and was the captain of the football team. During his time in Prairie City he was given the nickname "Doug" being he was the 3rd generation Kenneth Clark people needed a way to keep them apart. Later his nickname evolved from "Doug" to "Moose" because he was a large guy. Moose met Susan Hibbing and the couple were married May 30, 1992, in Denison, IA. Moose was employed at Parsons in Newton which later became Bantam Koehring working as a welder for the company. He later took a welding position for Terex at the Waverly, IA plant. Moose welded for many years until he moved to an assembly position with the company. During his time at Terex, Moose served as the UAW President of the local 411,and as a Union Steward. He retired from Terex after 35 years of employment. Moose enjoyed golfing & fishing. He loved getting enthralled in a good novel, and was always up for a card game of any kind. Moose liked to play Scrabble against Suzi where there were always close battles. He also had a passion for photography. Moose had two dogs he loved and adored; Breeze and Rudy. Moose is survived by his wife of 26 years, Suzi Clark of Nashua, IA; one sister, Deb (Jeff) Jones of Prairie City, IA; three nieces, Dani (Jeff) Elder and their children Ellery, Eli, and Everett of Altoona, IA, Desiree (Stephen) Solomon and their children Taylor, and Landon of Nevada, IA; Erica Jones of Ankeny, IA; two dogs, Breeze and Rudy. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to Northeast Iowa Food Bank or Unity Point Hospice.
