Paone – Benjamin “Ben” John Paone, aged 76, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at Community Hospice the McGraw Center in Jacksonville, FL. Born on January 16, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Benjamin Peter Paone and Phyllis Marie Belfati Paone. Benjamin proudly graduated from Temple University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business management. He devoted 34 years of his career to the railroad, working at Conrail and Norfolk Southern as a logistics manager before his retirement. Growing up Ben was always impeccably dressed, drove a stylish car, and was the life of the party. He loved cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, watching the History channel, golfing, and spending quality time with his beloved late family dog, Max. Later in life Ben found a passion for travel, with the Philippines being his favorite destination. Ben was also known for his sweet tooth, particularly his love for gelati, popsicles, and iced coffee. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach, Ben found both peace and purpose there. He was committed to his family, and his greatest joy came from the time he spent with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Phyllis Paone, and brother-in-law, Michael Cooley.

Ben is survived by his children, Benjamin Paone Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Jaclyn (John) Fox of Doylestown, PA; Kelsey Paone of Philadelphia, PA; and Christian (Clare) Paone of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Joan (Ronald) Stanley of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Deborah Cooley of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; grandchildren, Henry, Oliver and Theodore Fox; and numerous extended family members and friends.

A funeral mass to celebrate Ben’s life will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Jacksonville Beach, FL, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1pm.
