Every life tells a story, and Mr. Douglas M. "Tank" Trapp's was a chapter filled with love, laughter and impact. On Monday, November 18, 2024, he peacefully entered into God's care. He was born in Blair, South Carolina to the late Claude Trapp, Sr. and the late Annie Pearl Kincade Trapp.
Mr. Trapp was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Usher Board. He was a former employee of Georgia Pacific. Mr. Trapp was a graduate of McCrorey-Liston High School and a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
Mr. Trapp is survived by his wife, Patricia S. Trapp; children, Toshai Trapp Williams (Demetric), Tyronza Nicole Sheppard, Tiera Trapp Wicker (Camitchell), Christopher Ruff (Janice), Gromyko Jones (Takeela) and Telly Jones; siblings, Janet Moses (Jimmie), Claude Trapp Jr., Charles Trapp (Mischele), Robert Trapp (Denise); aunts: Alice Werts, Elizabeth Jeter, Janie Trapp Williams; uncle: Herman Robinson (Bessie); Goddaughter, Shirlethia Trapp, devoted cousins/friends: Romia Jeter, Randy Stoudemire, Eddie Rutherford, Abdul Elamin, Jackie Lane, Bradford Trapp, Alfred Trapp, Clarence Trapp; Mother-in-law, Lillie Mae Sheppard; six sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors. Public viewing will be Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Fred B. Pratt Memorial Chapel.
