Patricia Deyton Obituary

Patricia Ann Cook Deyton, age 57 of Burnsville, NC, went Home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loved ones in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 19, 2024. She was born on November 23, 1966, to her late father and surviving mother, Harold Cook and Annetta Robinson Cook. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Roger and Mary Cook; grandmother, Gladys Robinson; nephew, Heath Cook; special cousin, Misty Dawn Curtis; and father-in-law, Budge Deyton.

Pat was a kind and caring woman who loved her Lord and Savior, her church family, singing and fellowshipping with them all. Pat will forever be remembered in the minds of those she loved for so many wonderful things, but the greatest of them all was that she was a caregiver to her core. Pat was a mother to all. She loved to spend her time front porch sitting, surrounded by her family, and her chickens. She enjoyed being out in the woods where she could be one with nature and hunt for ginseng, which brought her joy. It was always a special time for her when she could vacation to her second home at the Outer Banks with her sister and their families. Pat and her sister Crystal always joked that they “shared their children”. Vacations, holidays, and special occasions were always spent together, as one big happy family, and those are the memories that we will cherish most.

Surviving is her loving husband, Mark Deyton; her mother, Annetta Robinson Cook; daughter, Ashley (Scott) Pittman; son, Dallas Street; step-daughter, Brittany (Rod) Deyton; step-son, Jeremy (Brandi) Deyton; sister, Crystal (Bill) Gilley; brothers: Larry Cook, Darren (Jennifer) Cook, and Terry (Charlotte) Cook; granddaughters: Kyndall Street and Presley Pittman; grandson, Raleigh Pittman; Ninny Pat’s babies who she simply adored: Skyler and Leland Austin; Pat’s sister’s children, Steven, Sarah, and Blake, who she loved just like they were her own children; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at White Oak Creek Independent Baptist Church in Burnsville, NC. The family will accept friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service for visitation. Rev. Randy Randolph, Rev. Kenny Shultz, and Rev. CJ Robinson will be officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Cook Family Cemetery in Burnsville, NC.

The family would like to say special thanks to the staff at Medi Home Hospice of Newland and especially to Brinkley Ray, for the love and kindness that was shown to the family during such a hard time. We would also like to say a special thanks to Randi Edwards at Compassionate Care of WNC for being more than just a caregiver, but also a friend; and to Logan Elliot, who was always there for Pat, especially in her last days.
