Mabel W. Van Zandt, 95, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024 with her family by her side.
Mabel was born and raised in Somerville and resided in Bridgewater since 1957. She was a 1948 graduate of Somerville High School. Mabel was employed as a secretary for Ortho Pharmaceutical for 8 years and then for Bridgewater Raritan School District for 33 years, retiring in 2009. Mabel volunteered at Somerset Medical Center for over 30 years at the reception desk. She will be sadly missed by all.
She is predeceased by her husband John B. Van Zandt who passed away in 2004, three siblings Dorothy Spencer, Evelyn Kopf, and Edward Wilson, and one grandson Matthew Ciuksza.
Surviving are her children, David Van Zandt (Carol), Linda Van Zandt Morris (Steve), Nancy Van Zandt Ciuksza (Steve), and Donna Van Zandt (Bob Ours), a sister Margaret Wilson, and two grandchildren Christy and Amy Ciuksza, and one great granddaughter Tara.
A private entombment will be held at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
Visitation will be 2-5pm Sunday at Bruce C. VanArsdale Funeral Home, 111 N. Gaston Ave, Somerville.
