Leona Nikorak, 85 of Lakewood passed away peacefully in the company of her loved ones on November 19th, 2024. Born in New Jersey, Leona lived in Kenilworth for 40 years before moving to Lakewood 17 years ago.

Leona is survived by her Son, Gary & fiancé Marlene and children Michael & Leah; her Grandson Steven & wife Jessica; her Grandson Zachary & wife Kate & great-granddaughter Emma; her Grandson Michael & fiancé Jessica; Sister Rose & niece Laura.

Leona is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Michael Nikorak; her son Steven; her parents John & Bertha Kovacs; and nephew Dave.

Leona was born on January 12th, 1939. She loved to work as a bookkeeper at Bourne, Noll & Kenyon in Summit, NJ. She was a dedicated wife, mother & grandmother. Leona’s warmth filled her home, especially through her kitchen where she enjoyed making her delicious meals and spending quality time with her family & friends. She would spend her summers between the baseball fields & her beach house in Ortley, NJ. She frequently traveled to Aruba with her husband Michael to escape the cold winters in NJ. Leona’s family was her greatest joy and the warmth of her heart filled any room she was in.

She will be remembered as a kind, loving spirit, devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother.

Visitation will be on Monday November 25, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00PM at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave, Roselle Park. Funeral mass will be on Tuesday November 26, 2024, at 10:30am St. Theresa RC Church, in Kenilworth with the burial to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
