Peggy Ann Wellington, 69, of Ottumwa, died at 1:07 p.m. November 19, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society -Ottumwa.
She was born October 1, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant to Darrell and Katherine Singsheim Wellington. She married Patrick McElroy and they later divorced.
A graduate of the Iowa School of Beauty, Peggy had worked as an instructor at the school and owned and operated Peg’s Touch of Magic.
She enjoyed gardening and flowers, crocheting, and loved listening to music.
Surviving are her children, Valerie (Jeremiah) Bowen of Fremont and Shane McElroy (Madison Sheston) of Centerville; 5 grandchildren, Logan Bowen, Ean Bowen, Miah Bowen, Rayleigh Scales and Gracie McElroy; siblings, Danny (Gina) Thompson, Brenda (Tom Kracht) Thompson and Tony Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Shawn; siblings, Cathy Wellington, Vickie Wellington and Debbie Allender; and a grandson, Scott Cunningham.
Her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
