William J. “Bill” Kessler age 89 of Allens Mills Road Reynoldsville, PA; died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville. Born on January 12, 1935 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late William Henry and Elsie Overdorf Kessler. He was married to H. Marie Corbin on July 26, 1957 and she survives. Retired, he had been employed at the B&O Railroad as a Repairman, as a Lab Technician at Brockway Glass and later at ProChemTech International also in Brockway. Bill also worked for many many years at the Beechwoods Cemetery mainly cutting the grass and trimming around the headstones. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 30 years. Bill was a member of the Allens Mills Community Church. He served as a Washington Township Supervisor, served on the Township Zoning Board and sat on the board of the Little Toby Watershed Project. He enjoyed bird watching, jigsaw puzzles, working sudoku puzzles and keeping his grass looking perfect at his home. In addition to his wife he is also survived by 3 daughters Debra Overholser of Reynoldsville; Kathleen (Floyd) Shaffer of Hazen, PA; Amy (Michael) McKinley of Cranberry, PA; 3 brothers Don (Thelma) Kessler of DuBois; N. Dale (Judy) Kessler of Grampian, PA and Max (Jackie) Kessler of Brockway. Bill is also survived by 6 grandchildren Shannon, Sean, Tonya, Kayla, Morgan, Landon and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by sisters Margaret Sundie, Pauline Bare a brother Howard Kessler and an infant brother John. Visitation will be on Saturday November 23 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Joni Williams and Rev. Ellen Bullock officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwoods Cemetery.
