Grace Hill Rogers passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

Graveside services will be Friday, Nov. 22, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Cartersville Baptist Church Cemetery, in Timmonsville.    The family will speak to those attending after the service. 

Grace was the fourth daughter of the late Joseph Chester Hill and Josie Hodge Hill of Cartersville, SC.  She was a member of Cartersville Baptist Church and a 1958 graduate of Timmonsville High School where she held class offices and was elected Homecoming Queen.  She attended Francis Marion College where she was a May Queen attendant.  Grace had a beautiful alto voice and sang extensively with the “Hill Sisters” quartet in many venues including radio and TV. 

She retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company in Florence but continued to work tirelessly at various jobs, among them switchboard operator for Florence General Hospital. 

She is survived by her sisters, Barbara (Bob) Wilkinson, Beth (Phil) Farmer, and Cecelia Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.  Grace resided in Florence for most of her life and since August 2023 lived at the Bethea Retirement Community in Darlington.  She suffered with memory issues in recent years.

She was the devoted mother of two children, a son Joseph Bradford Rogers and a daughter Katrina Hart Rogers.  She was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Josie Hill, her children, Brad and Trina Rogers, her sisters, Joan Hill and Wanda Hamblen, and brothers-in-law, Tom Taylor and Larry Hamblen.
